There is a possibility your denture is no longer suitable for purpose due to changes in your mouth. Poorly fitting dentures may also cause damage to hard and soft oral tissues and could well lead to the increased risk of denture fracture.
Your dentures should be checked on an annual basis by a dentist as this not only ensures optimum comfort and fit but it is also a chance to check your oral health and check for any changes in your mouth including your gums and tongue.
Dentures usually need to be relined every 3-5 years, or as your gums or mouth change and your current dentures become loose.

We have the experience and industry knowledge required to understand what you need to manage your practice in the long term: reliable, high quality products and services that help you give your patients the best possible results.
Our comprehensive range of products include acrylic, flexible and chrome dentures, orthodontics, occlusal appliances, anti-snoring devices, and sports mouthguards.
We are highly qualified and guarantee complete satisfaction.
Acrylic dentures are the most suitable option for patients that are not candidates for implant-based alternatives. Lothian Dental Lab dentures consist of the highest quality in base materials and a range of NHS & Private denture teeth options. Acrylic dentures offer functional alternative that are long lasting and aesthetically pleasing for desired patient outcomes.
Our castings are made up of Chrome for retention, combined with tissue coloured acrylic and replacement teeth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. We can design the frame or design it yourself on the order form or your model. Frames are a long lasting alternative to acrylic only dentures.
Lothian Dental Lab provides a wide range of orthodontic appliances. These custom-made devices, usually made of wires or hard acrylic, hold teeth in position after surgery or any method of realigning teeth. We can accommodate any special retainers required. Please contact our highly trained technician for any special request or consultation required.
Sports mouthguards are designed for athletes of all ages. They are fabricated in our dental lab using materials by Iconic. Our mouthguards fit exactly onto teeth, do not move and allow patients to breathe freely and speak normally. Mouthguards vary in thickness with a variety of colour designs and combinations. We offer three different styles of mouthguards to suit your patient's athletic needs. The type of sport will determine which mouthguard to prescribe to your patients.
Our Occlusal splints, also known as night guards or bite splints, are devices designed to open the bite and protect the dentition in either the upper or lower arches. They are commonly prescribed for Bruxism and can be worn during the day or at night to provide occlusal comfort. These devices are fabricated for precise fit and can incorporate hard/soft layers for customised retention.
We provide a range of custom designed anti-snoring devices. Please contact the lab for the best solution for your patients.
